Enlighten Festival 2025, Lindy Lee: 100 flowers Falling
National Gallery of Australia

As Creative Director for The Electric Canvas, I led the design team in close collaboration with Lindy Lee to develop 100 Flowers Falling, a large-scale projection and sound work for the National Gallery of Australia at the 2025 Enlighten Festival. Working across the gallery’s complex architectural form, we translated Lee’s interpretation of the ancient kōan The True Ch’ien into an immersive visual narrative, weaving together cosmic imagery, colour and ancient Chinese symbolism to explore wholeness, inner conflict and the complexity of human choice. The projection is accompanied by an original score by Australian composer Lawrence English.

Artist Statement – Lindy Lee

‘In any choice we make in life we leave something of ourselves behind and something else steps forward. Some dilemmas are painful and some are not so painful. The response to this story is one about wholeness – and it has to come from your heart. It’s about you being able to embrace the ten thousand things inside of you.’
